Newborn Baby Boy Essentials Checklist (0–3 Months)
Bringing a baby home is exciting, and a little stressful too, because there is so much to arrange. In the first three months most of what you need is simple: clothes that are easy to change, a few things to keep the baby covered, and bath and clean-up basics. Here is a checklist so nothing is missing on the day you come home.
Clothes that are easy to change
Newborns need changing often, so choose outfits that open at the front. Button-up outfits are easier than clothes you have to pull over the head, especially in the first weeks. Keep a few sets ready so there is always a clean one.
Cap, mittens and socks
A cap, a pair of mittens and socks keep your baby's head, hands and feet covered. Mittens are also handy because newborns often scratch their own face with their tiny nails
Loin cloth
A few soft loin cloths are useful for everyday dressing. Keep several ready, as they need changing regularly.
Bath time and clean-up
A hooded towel makes drying easier after a bath, because the hood covers the baby's head. Soft handkerchiefs are useful for wiping up small messes through the day. Keep a good number of them, as you will use them often.
Want it all in one set?
If you would rather not buy each thing separately, our Baby Boy Arrival Combo (0–3 months) brings these together: button-up outfits, a cap and mitten set, socks, a loin cloth, a hooded towel and soft handkerchiefs.
It also works well as a gift for a baby shower, or for a friend or relative who is welcoming a baby boy.
Before the baby arrives
- Keep everything in one basket or drawer, so anyone helping can find things quickly.
- This combo is for 0–3 months. Babies grow fast, so think about the next size too.
